Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Noms mobile application ("the app", "Noms", "we", "us"). By downloading, accessing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. Who can use Noms
You must be at least 13 years old to use Noms. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide to us is accurate.
2. What Noms does
Noms scans your device's photo library to identify food photos, matches them to restaurants using their location metadata, and builds a personal map of the places you've eaten. You can rate places, record visits, and write notes. Some of this content can be shared with people you follow inside the app if you choose to publish it.
3. Your account
You sign in using Sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in method secure and for activity that occurs under your account. Let us know promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the photos, ratings, notes, and other content you create or provide ("Your Content"). By using the app, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the app to you and, where you choose to publish it, to the people you share it with.
You are responsible for Your Content and confirm that you have the right to use it and that it does not violate any law or the rights of others.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
- Upload or share content that is illegal, infringing, harmful, harassing, or that you do not have the right to share.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the app or its underlying systems.
- Use the app to collect or harvest information about other users without their consent.
We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates these Terms or misuses the app.
6. Privacy
Your use of Noms is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect and how we handle it. Please review it carefully.
7. Third-party services
Noms relies on third-party services — including Apple, Google, Supabase, and Mapbox — to function. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.
8. Beta software
Noms may be made available to you as a beta or pre-release version. Beta software is provided for testing and evaluation, may contain bugs, and may change or be discontinued at any time. Features available during the beta are not guaranteed to appear in any future release.
9. Intellectual property
The app, including its name, logo, design, and software (but excluding Your Content), is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding without our prior written permission.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that restaurant matches, locations, or other information shown in the app will be accurate, complete, or uninterrupted.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of the app.
12. Termination
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the app. You can delete your account and all associated data as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
